NEWSROOM DIRECTORY

Heartland Newsfeed is an independent, community-focused newsroom based in Nokomis, Illinois, serving 41 counties in Illinois and 22 in Missouri—including communities too often treated as news deserts.

We strive to present tough, honest, and fact‑driven coverage that puts local communities at the center of the story, not for political grandstanding.

We exist to inform and empower our region with clear, accurate, and transparent reporting on local, regional, state, national, and global issues—free of partisan spin and guided by fairness, accountability, and a steadfast commitment to ethical journalism.

We have been wholly owned by Heartland Media Group of Central Illinois & Eastern Missouri since 2023, previously operating as its own entity since December 31, 2016. Its parent company is 95% wholly owned by Jake Leonard, with 5% owned by the estate of an early investor who passed.

HEARTLAND NEWSFEED RADIO NETWORK

On December 31, 2018, Heartland Newsfeed Radio Network would launch.

The launch surrounded the relaunch and rebranding of WWPM MediaNet, which operated from 2010 to 2013.

Compared to its 2010-2013 predecessor, it would revert from a variety station that played music to being a news and sports talk station, featuring programming from the Liberty Radio Network and Sports Byline USA Radio Network. The network has since added programming from SportsGrid Radio and from self-syndicated podcasts and radio programs.

home holidays

REVOLUTION RADIO

In May 2024, a radio project that has been planned since 2016 would finally come to fruition via Revolution Radio.

Revolution Radio is a Christian variety station that plays a wide array of Christian music genres (CCM, Christian Rock, Christian Metal, Christian Rap, Christian Hip-Hop, etc).

The station currently features programming such as 20: The Countdown Magazine, The MAD Christian Radio Show, and Whip of Cords Radio.

HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS RADIO

In November 2024, a special seasonal broadcast radio project was developed for broadcast initially for the 2024 Snowkomis celebration. The radio project: Home for the Holidays Radio.

Following praise and compliments of the station, the project will continue for the 2025 holiday season (and beyond!)

The seasonal station starts broadcasting on November 1 of each holiday season and will play your favorite music until New Year’s Day.

The station also features special programming such as holiday episodes of classic radio programs.

HEARTLAND NEWSFEED PODCAST NETWORK

In March 2020, Heartland Newsfeed Podcast Network was launched.

At the beginning, the podcast network featured programming that allowed us to republish their content, many of which are still available today.

As of June 2025, over 10,000 episodes of various podcasts have been published, totaling more than 8.5 million listens.

The hosting platform that hosts the podcast network also hosts archives from the Heartland Newsfeed Radio Network, as well as news features and audio from municipal and governmental meetings.
