2026 Montgomery County yield survey results

HILLSBORO — The Montgomery County office for Illinois Extension conducted its annual yield survey of the area corn crops. The survey data gathered resulted in an estimated county-wide average yield of 209.4 bushels per acre, which is up from last year’s average of 206.6 bushels per acre.

Volunteers sampled fields in each of the 19 townships in Montgomery County. Results for each township are:

  • Audubon – 221.6
  • Bois D’Arc – 212.8
  • Butler Grove – 213.5
  • East Fork – 178.2
  • Fillmore – 191.9
  • Grisham – 204.9
  • Harvel – 205.4
  • Hillsboro – 243.4
  • Irving – 195.9
  • Nokomis – 203.9
  • North Litchfield – 207.9
  • Pitman – 225.4
  • Raymond – 213.2
  • Rountree – 217.7
  • South Fillmore – 181.3
  • South Litchfield – 192.3
  • Walshville – 232.8
  • Witt – 209.0
  • Zanesville – 227.2
  • County-wide Average: 209.4 Bushels/Acre

The survey was sponsored by the University of Illinois Extension and Montgomery County Farm Bureau. Montgomery County Farm Bureau and First National Bank of Litchfield provided a complimentary lunch.
