Three amenities that are neighborhood necessities

Communities continue to expand, and one thing driving it is urbanization. According to research, many people are moving from rural to urban areas for many reasons, including better jobs, schools, healthcare, and other essentials. As such, neighborhoods need to develop rapidly to meet this demand. These amenities foster a sense of belonging and social cohesion. A survey to understand what the majority prefer most showed that 72% selected parks. Below are other amenities essential for new communities.

amenities

Pet-friendly amenities

Over half of US households have had pets for most of their lives. Statistics reveal that 66% of households have at least a dog of any breed to keep them company. The numbers are expected to rise yearly, meaning more families will embrace the joys of pet ownership. Therefore, communities must accommodate the needs of animal friends.

Pet-friendly amenities like dog parks, washing stations, and walking trails say much about the community. Anybody who moves into an area with such facilities can safely conclude that residents are pet-friendly. These places eventually become meeting points for people to share experiences with their animal companions. It’s worth noting that pet-friendly amenities show the neighborhood’s commitment to inclusivity and diversity, especially concerning domestic animals.

Green spaces, parks, and playgrounds

America’s growing need for a green environment continues to fuel the demand for open spaces that serve as nature sanctuaries. These places also double as meeting places for residents and their families. It sounds counterproductive for nature sanctuaries to become places for human activity. However, it’s possible, especially when the design is well thought through.

For example, experienced playground design companies would always consider maintaining greenery in defined areas on the same site where children can have fun. Such expansive parks often have picnic areas, walking paths, and pocket areas that don’t disturb nature’s sanctuary. Parks, playgrounds, and green spaces are excellent additions to any area. They promote a greater sense of community while ensuring it has something that appeals to all age groups.

If you plan on moving to a new area, it would be a great idea to factor this into your decision.

Community centers

Human beings are social creatures, explaining why people crave communal belonging. The US is widely known for its abundance of community centers, which is why many places have them. These multipurpose facilities are versatile spaces in that they host different activities regardless of age group. Cultural events, fitness classes, and area parties can be held here.

Over the years, more American neighborhoods are also interested in empowering residents. That has given rise to the use of community facilities for educational programs and skill-sharing workshops. Most of these are aimed at the youth, while others are focused on all age groups with the hope of leaving no one behind.

Everyone wants to see this in a progressive community, especially when relocating. The strength of an area’s fabric stems from these communal activities. It may be best to settle on community connections whenever you must choose.
