If you are currently unhappy with your job, then it could mean that it is time to start looking for something else. It could be time to go freelance. Freelancing is a great option. It allows you to work for yourself and get away from the daily grind of an office.

There are many reasons that the corporate way might not be for you. It could be that you need to try something else. If you are looking to take things into your own hands, here are a few reasons why the number of freelancers is growing.

Current statistics show that there are currently 57 million freelancers in the US. By the year 2027, it is predicted that freelancers will make up most of the workforce in the country, with over 50%.

Freelancers get to choose your own hours

One of the biggest aspects that draw people to freelancing is that you can choose your own hours. If you need a job that fits around family life, this can be a good way to do so. You can also choose to work at the hours that are best suited to when you are the most productive.

For example, if you work better in the morning, you can start early and finish earlier. If you are better at getting things done in the evening, then you can do this. It means you can optimize your work-life balance to be the best for you.

You can do jobs that you are interested in

When you are a freelance worker, you can sift through different jobs and be pickier about what you accept. In a job from any other employer, you have to do the tasks that are set for you. If you work for yourself, you can choose the jobs that you have an interest in.

Because you are more interested in what you are doing, you will be more likely to complete it quicker and have a greater level of motivation. Whether you like financing such as you can find when you click here, writing or photography the choice is yours.

You can work from wherever you want to

If you are working for someone else, you have to go to their office. This could mean that you have a long commute that takes a long amount of time out of your day and costs you a lot in transport costs. When you work for yourself you can choose just where you want to work from. This could be a coworking space, a coffee shop, or an outside space.

You could also work from home if you wish, making it the perfect option if you have children that you need to fit it around or other work commitments. You can also switch up where you work from, choosing to go somewhere externally some of the time or work from home other times. Flexibility is something that really appeals to most people when they want to be a freelancer.

There is no limit on how much you can earn

When you have a job, you are on a set salary and this is difficult to increase. The only way to earn more money is if you get a raise or if you are working on commission. When you are a freelancer, there is no limit on how much you can earn. Instead, if you are looking to earn more, you can apply for more jobs. You can also decide how much you wish to earn, setting your own prices for the services that you provide.

This means you can climb up the earning ladder much quicker. The more freelance work that you do and the better reviews you can get, the higher the levels of money that you can earn. It is important to do your research. Find out how much to set your prices at when you first start and re-evaluate this often.

You can learn a vast range of skills

When it comes to freelancing, you can learn a host of skills that you might not otherwise be able to do so. It could be that you start your freelance journey doing blog writing, but over time extend these skills to copywriting, writing descriptions, social media, and other similar skill sets. These are all skills that you can learn through experience as well as doing online courses and taking yourself off to learn new skills at day courses.

It is a good idea to look up any qualifications you might need for certain jobs. Take yourself to learn these before taking on jobs. You want to ensure that you always underpromise and overdeliver rather than the other way round! The last thing you want is to disappoint a client because you have said you can do something that you otherwise can’t.

You can work with some great clients

When you work for yourself, you get the chance to meet and work with clients that you would not get to otherwise. A lot of large, well-known companies often turn to freelancers in order to get jobs done. This could be anything from running their blog to sorting out their social media pages or doing their marketing work.

These are clients that you might not be able to work with if you were in a large company. You wouldn’t get these sorts of opportunities. There are a host of sites you can apply for freelance jobs on, such as PeoplePerHour, Fiverr, and many more.

These are just a few reasons why you should become a freelancer. Working for yourself is one of the best things that you can ever do. It will offer you freedom and flexibility unlike any other. What are some reasons you would like to go freelance? Let us know in the comments below.
