When you start a new business there is so much to do. It can be very overwhelming and feel like your to-do list is never-ending. When you first start a business there are few things that you need to make sure on the to-do list and made a priority. These handy tips will help you have a smoother and easier start to your new business venture.

Location, location, location is important for your business

One of the first things you need to think about is the location of your business you need to make sure if it’s within your budget but there are things that you need to do beforehand.

Once you’ve seen the location and you’re happy with how it looks, it’s best to go back a couple of times throughout the week at different times and days to gauge what kind of traffic the area gets. You want to see what kind of people are walking by, how many are walking by and if your business is located that would attract them in-store to purchase from you.

It’s also good to assess any competition close by or any other businesses that offer what you do. For example, if you’re opening a coffee shop you don’t want to do that directly next to a Costa or Starbucks.

Get your business’ branding on point

Branding is another important part of the business when you startup. You want to source a brand palette where you get different colors that will represent your brand so that when someone sees them together with your logo then immediately that’s your business.

A logo is another important thing and you want variations to cover different aspects for example for sizes heads, social media logos and anything else you may feel you need for your business. The same goes for any fonts or templates that you want for your social media and correspondence.

It’s also something that would be incorporated into any uniforms that you may have your employees wear at work.

Create your online presence

No matter what the business in this day and age every business needs to be online. Do you need a website where you have everything about your business, what you offer and how people can contact you?

This will be normally the first port of call when someone is searching for your business or services. There are lots of different sites which can help you build your sites like Wix, WordPress, and others, but if you find you are struggling to do it you can hire web designers and branding specialists who can do this for you.

Another important aspect of your online presence is your social media profiles. Once you have thought of the name for your business you will want to make sure it is available as a username on social media and available as a website domain. Ideally all the same so your customers can find you easily. Make sure before you share your social media accounts that everything is filled and has all the correct information.

It is also handy to have about 10 or so posts up. It also can give a glimpse into what you can offer. Some of the first post ideas could be, what problem you help, how you help, who you are, when you open and some images to showcase your business. It also helps your business grow so you can become wealthy and successful.

Always be looking to learn

The Internet is full of wonderful things. There are so many free online courses that can help you with all sorts. When you first start running a business sometimes you end up doing a lot more jobs than you would like to. It also means you may be doing jobs that you’re not familiar with, so by spending some time and investing the time you have into doing a free online social media course you can make sure that you’re doing everything you can to become successful.

There are lots of different ways you can do online free courses like Facebook, HubSpot, and Google garage alongside many others so simply have a research online and see what’s available. Three courses are available on management, business expansion, creating the best branding on a budget.

There are groups and courses that you can do online which will cost a bit of money that are also normally quite rewarding.

Also available are special networking events and specialist subject events where you can learn more with your fellow business owners and give each other tips and tricks. Normally the investment you make moneywise is worth it so check out the resources.
