Would you believe that many people would love the opportunity to start a career working for themselves? It is a huge dream for many, but not everyone has the courage to take that leap of faith. As we are in the middle of the year, and your goals are still a huge talking point, is it time that you made your career your focus for the next six months? The issue is, not many people have an idea for a specific new business. But that doesn’t mean you can’t work for yourself. Here are four career ideas that could have you working for yourself this year.

Working as a blogger or vlogger

Digital careers have fast become an option for many people; becoming a blogger or a vlogger could be the ideal option for you. Blogging is using a website to write articles on your subject of choice. Sharing images to go alongside it and promoting your content on social media platforms. Blogging is a similar concept except the content is video-based and not written articles. Spending on what you prefer, whether an option or a combination of the two could work really well for you. It is something that won’t make you money straight away; however, using spare time to build up your personal brand could help you make it a dream job.

Working a career in healthcare

Working a career in the care industry may have you thinking that there are no options for a healthcare business; it takes a special kind of person to do this sort of job. Moreover, it can make a big difference by looking at what you can do as a business. You could look at a home care franchise and a look online will have you find the best franchise to own. It could be a great way to finally take your passion and empathy and make it a business of it.

Training as a consultant in a specific area

There are so many ways you can work from home; a popular option is to consider a career becoming a consultant or representative for an existing business and brand. These companies recruit salespeople to work their own territories, creating their own sales and business using products and branding. This can be a great way to build up some momentum in sales; it also creates a nice little income, as most of it is ready for you. However, an interest in the products or services you are selling is beneficial.

You can make a career out of freelancing

Finally, it may be time to start thinking about freelancing instead of starting a business. It could be that you already love what you do and know you could replicate it working for yourself. Many people specializing in areas like accounts, copywriting or social media management go on to freelance and work for themselves. It could be a great way to get the best of both worlds.

Let’s hope these ideas give you some inspiration to help you work for yourself this year.
