Do you have a spare room in your home that you don’t know what to do with? Whether you’re thinking of selling your home in the near future or you simply want to revitalize the space, then there are several practical things that you can use it for. Transforming it so that your family can take advantage of it while adding value, it can be an invaluable step to take.

But if you’re lost for inspiration as to what to do with it, then the prospect might be very daunting. To help guide you, here is a list of 5 extraordinary ideas of how you can transform the spare room in your home:

Games Room

Who doesn’t love a games room? A wonderful space for your family and guests to enjoy, you can fill it with a pool or foosball table, beanbags to lounge on or a big screen tv. There is even an arcade machine for sale that you could put in there to add a retro vibe. Whatever you want to fill it with, you’ll be able to find the items online or in many stores.

Cinema Room

Alternatively, if you love films then why not utilize the space and transform it into a cinema room? Although this might sound expensive, it doesn’t have to be. All you’ll need is a large screen (whether you opt for a projector and screen or a large TV is up to you), some comfortable seating and if you want it, some other cinema-related items like a popcorn machine.

This will not only impress everyone that comes to visit but is perfect for family nights and will add value to your property in the long term.

En Suite

If you don’t currently have an en suite either in the master bedroom or one of the guest rooms then you might want to change the spare room into one. Of course, this will only really work if it’s directly next to the room in question. But the moment that it’s done you won’t look back. Creating a bathroom from scratch also ensures that you can design it in your dream style without any compromises.

Walk-in Wardrobe

Similarly to the en suite, by adding a walk-in wardrobe to your master bedroom you’ll reap the benefits of the extra space. Ideal if you’re currently running out of room in your closet, it will make your room feel so much bigger. If you really want to add the wow factor, you could also make this half a closet and half a dressing room.

Home Office

If you frequently work from home and are fed up of having to balance your laptop on your lap or on the kitchen counter then you may want to make the spare room into your own personal home office. Through doing this your motivation for remote working will increase, as will your concentration levels.
