TAYLORVILLE (Heartland Newsfeed) — The Illinois political action committee for the nation’s largest small business organization has made an endorsement decision regarding the state senate race in District 48.

The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) and their Illinois PAC endorsed Taylorville businessman and Republican candidate Seth McMillan, according to a press release from the campaign Monday. The PAC is comprised exclusively of Illinois-based NFIB members.

“Our members support the candidates who support small businesses and Seth McMillan not only understand the challenges facing Illinois’ job creators, he lives them everyday as a small business owner,” stated Mark Grant, state director for NFIB Illinois.

Grant adds that McMillan would fight to create and maintain an environment where small businesses can prosper and create quality jobs.

The owner of McMillan Landscaping noted that he has a new appreciation for the role of small businesses when signing the front of paychecks help support the livelihoods and families of people in the community.

The support of the PAC is dependent on the positions of the candidates running for office and their record on small business issues. Owners of small businesses and their employees often are among one of the largest voter bases that actively recruit others to go the polls.

McMillan is challenging Democratic incumbent Andy Manar in the November 6 general election.
