nn Senior Director of Public Policy nn nnChicago, IL nn nnHybrid – 3 days on site nn nn n nn nn Position Overview nn nnThis is an opportunity for you to play a critical role at an impactful organization in Chicago. In this role you will be responsible for developing and overseeing a comprehensive advocacy and legislative relations strategy while building relationships with policy partners. nn nn nn nn Responsibilities nn nDevelop and implement advocacy, legislative, and coalition strategies n nDevelop and manage elected relationship management strategy n nStrategically deploy all members to advance legislative and government relations goals n nCollaborate cross-functionally to engage volunteers, donors, and supporters in advocacy n nMonitor and analyze all legislation to assess their impact n nManage the organization’s lobbying registration and reporting n nWrite all communications to engage and inform stakeholders n nDevelop and deliver trainings to educate and engage stakeholders n nManage the team’s advocacy and legislative relations-related budget and resources n nDevelop funder proposals, budgets, and reports n nProvide press guidance and represent the organization in media communications n nOversee the planning and execution of key advocacy and lobbying events n nEstablish and maintain a system for tracking organization-wide engagement n nEstablish a system for tracking the impact of advocacy recruitment and mobilization efforts n nCultivate existing relationships and develop and maintain strong working relationships with elected officials and their staff n nCoordinate with Senior Policy Advisors to mobilize advocates and engage elected officials to support legislative policy solutions n nn n nn nn Qualifications nn nAdvanced degree in public policy, political science, law, social work, public health, or a related field n n10+ years of work experience in advocacy, lobbying, public policy, or a related field n nStrong knowledge of the legislative and policy-making process at the local, state, and federal levels n nKnowledge of advocacy and lobbying rules, regulations, and ethics n nStrategic understanding of the landscape of public, nonprofit, and private partners n nExcellent written and oral communication skills n nComfortable with fast-paced work environment with minimal supervision n nDemonstrated ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively n nEmotionally intelligent manager with significant experience managing teams to achieve results n nAbility to advance shared outcomes across organizational functions in a complex organization n nExcellent organizational and analytical skills n nProficiency in MS Office-Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. n nOut of office meetings and events, occasional travel n nn n nn nn Compensation nn nSalary: $115,000-$120,000 n nExcellent benefits package that includes medical, vision, and dental caren
