Work within the Gene Therapy Cell Line Technology team and Cell Culture Development team and be engaged in various laboratory aspects. This position grants the individual an opportunity to learn about molecular biology and cell line development techniques and get exposure to early-stage upstream process development.nThe candidate will conduct laboratory molecular biology techniques such as DNA/RNA purification and characterization, PCR, qPCR, ddPCR, western blotting analysis, as well as setting up and running bench scale bioreactors (sample, analyze, feed, and assess culture performance), deep wells, shake flasks, and micro-scale AMBR bioreactors. Experience documenting laboratory work via the internal electronical lab notebook system will also be acquired. Candidates must be strong team players and have an ability to collaborate effectively on projects. This position will include cross-functional collaborations with downstream process development and material sciences groups. Additionally, the candidate should be strong at troubleshooting and detail oriented.nSelf-motivated and team oriented with the ability to work towards independent goals.nExcellent organizational and time management skills.nProficient in working with PC based computer systems and relevant applications including Microsoft Excel. Experience with IDBS Electronic Notebook application is a plus.nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.nKnowledge of and interest in molecular biology, bacterial/mammalian cell culture, and aseptic techniques is a plus.n nEducation:0-3 years of life-science, biomedical or engineering related lab experience or courses
