Nesco Resource is looking for a Quality Control Technician for a client in the Cohoes, NY area. This is a temp-to-perm position that offers excellent benefits and an opportunity for growth. The Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring consistent label and printing product quality,
specifically inspecting and verifying customer specifications. In addition, this individual is responsible for
meeting and maintaining accurate and consistent production quality, including final quality control decisions on print and color acceptability. The Quality Control Technician is also responsible for maintaining and meeting all internal requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Evaluation of pre-determined jobs prior to print, identifying print defects (ex. missing or incorrect copy, correct position, color inaccuracies), ensuring corrections and communicating requirements effectively
Verify jobs and job categories for accuracy as well as proofing
Review, complete and organize customer and material certificates of compliance, including compiling
customer information and changes as needed
Compile corrective action data
Assemble color standard for customers
Conduct inspection verifications
Number products and act as a backup for inspection
Act as a backup for shrink sleeve testing
General Requirements:
Ability to identify print quality issues/problems, evaluate options and implement solutions
Flexibility, adaptability and ability to adjust to constantly changing priorities and potential schedules
Knowledge of production processes, quality control, and other techniques used to effectively
manufacture and distribute materials and products
Knowledge of and ability to use quality control instruments, including, but not limited to, Global Vision, Art Proof, Ortho Beta Ruler and Spectro Eye
Ability to understand mathematical applications, ex. measurement, logic, etc.
Good customer service and interpersonal skills and ability to work with a wide range of professions and personalities
Good command of the English language; ability to effectively read and write
Good analytical, written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of, and ability to, train, instruct, and measure individual ability
Detail-oriented
Physical Requirements:
Good manual dexterity for cutting, pressing, pulling, pushing, rolling, typing
Ability to use/handle a light to find errors; must not have light sensitivity issues
Excellent hand-eye coordination and acute depth perception
Ability to decipher colors with color blind test pre-employment
Must be able to pass pre-employment screening, including drug testing
