Working since 1967 to sustain the green, historic character and natural resources of the area, CH Conservancy is an accredited nonprofit land trust – the first in the nation to be awarded accreditation in an urban environment. Through programs, exhibits, tours, advocacy, and our Archives, CH Conservancy is at the forefront of a sustainable urban community development movement, balancing growth with protections such as land conservation, building preservation, archival history, and best practices in sustainable living. nn nn nn nn POSITION SUMMARY: nn nnCH Conservancy is seeking a full-time Programs and Communications Manager (PC Manager) to illustrate the importance and vulnerability of the area’s natural and built environment and share its diversity of histories, while shaping the Conservancy’s public presence and amplifying its impact. The PC Manager oversees education and engagement of the Conservancy’s audiences; extends the organization’s reach; and bolsters its credibility as the go-to resource for information on area architecture, open space, histories, and sustainable practices. Salary is commensurate with experience, and will fall in the range of $50,000-$54,000 annually.nn nn nn nn QUALIFICATIONS: nn nAt least two years of relevant professional experience required in one or more of the following areas: strategic communications, marketing, developing fun and educational public programs and/or exhibits, or nonprofit program management n nBachelor’s degree in a related fieldn nSpecific experience required with:n nn o Strategic communications with audience engagement strategies, editorial calendars, outcomes measurement, and content management systemsnn nn o Web and other collateral content, event promotion, email newsletter production, social media channel management, media relations, print publication, marketing/advertising, and design nn nn o Optimal use of visual elements, particularly photography, design, typography, and videography, as well as experience collaborating with designers and a/v professionalsnn nn o Communicating sensitive issues, and crisis communicationsnn nn o Volunteer cultivation, management, and retention nn nn o External relations, including establishing and maintaining relationships with community stakeholders, nonprofit partners, and the media (especially regional external relations)nn nn o Pitching stories and events to the external news media and working with reporters and producers a plusnn n Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, WordPress, Zoom, live-streaming platforms, email communications platforms n n Experience with graphic design, video editing, Adobe Creative Suite is a plus n n Familiarity with the Philadelphia area, what it has to offer, and local network is a plus n nn nn nnA hybrid (home office and Conservancy office) work setup is possible but the good chocolate will only be provided at the Conservancy office.
