Position Summary:
The Infection Prevention Manager is responsible for identifying, investigating, monitoring, and reporting healthcare-associated infections. The Infection Prevention Manager collaborates with teams and individuals to create infection prevention strategies, provide feedback, and sustain infection prevention strategies. The Infection Prevention Manager identifies, investigates, and records data concerning hospital-acquired infections, those present on admission, and potential infections and initiates infection control measures as directed by national protocols, and regulatory agencies. The Infection Prevention Manager directs the program utilizing the standards set forth by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN), CMS accrediting organizations, The Joint Commission, the Illinois Department of Public Health, and the Federal Government to ensure quality patient care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
IP Program Management
Develop, implement, and evaluate the organizational infection prevention program.
Daily Surveillance
Develop an annual surveillance program based on the population(s) served, services provided, and analysis of surveillance data.
Develop, interpret, and assist with the implementation of infection prevention policies and protocols.
Communicate infection prevention information and data to various committees and healthcare workers.
Assess, Design, and Deliver Education
Comply with regulatory and mandatory reporting requirements at the local, state, and federal levels
Define the scope of the project and select appropriate PI tools to aid in efficiency, reliability, and effectiveness and ensure the sustainability of the initiative
Partner with Corporate Health to report mandatory Staff/provider immunization programs.
Reviews construction and renovation documents to develop recommendations to reduce patient risk.
