Chamber-pop singer/songwriter/producer Taali swings by the podcast in light of her new single “Los Angeles (Acoustic)” the first track from her forthcoming EP “Were Most of Your Stars Out?” Taali founded Rainbow Blonde Records, a label and worldwide collective she runs with her creative partner, R&B/jazz vocalist José James, and engineer and producer Brian Bender. We had a lovely conversation about her homelife and coming from a strong lineage of women, to stories of her finding her voice and being mentored by Blue Note president, Don Was. Now, back home in New York, we can reflect on her time in L.A., being comfortable in the songwriting sphere, and how all these events have now culminated into her being stronger and more empowered as ever.
