On today’s show, Irma Alred joins John to share a heartbreaking and inspiring story.
Irma was convicted for a conspiracy to possess with intent to sell marijuana. It was just her second offense, but she was sentenced to 364 months in prison (30 years 4 months) along with a fine of $25,000, with 18 % interest, 10 years probation. Irma served 21 years and was released from prison on October 30th 2015.
There is so much more to the story. While in prison, Irma dealt with a debilitating brain aneurysm that resulted in two surgeries. The second one resulting in very scary complications and a difficult recovery.
